Meet the Artist

Sarah Jean Ludlow hails from the rural town of Flora, Indiana. She has pursued art since she started drawing as a child. She graduated from Ball State University in 2017 with a degree in scenic art. She has studied drawing and oil painting with the Lafayette Atelier in Lafayette, Indiana and with the Ravenswood Atelier in Chicago.

She started her tattoo apprenticeship with Johnny Hazard in April of 2023 and finished at the end of 2024. She got her start at Firefly Tattoo in Noblesville, Indiana.

Sarah Jean looks up to artists like Artemisia Gentileschi, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keefe, Nicole Eisenman, and Hope Gangloff. She hopes to tattoo like Deanna James or Pamela Carvalho.

Outside of tattoo, Sarah Jean loves to read, crochet, play video games, and paint.
